Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Nakatani received a courtesy call from the delegation of JENESYS2019 Youth Sports Exchange (Rugby) Program

On September 19th, a delegate of 164 youths from ASEAN Countries and Timor-Leste participating in JENESYS 2019 Youth Sports Exchange program paid a courtesy call to Mr. NAKATANI Shinichi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- In his welcoming address, Mr. Nakatani expressed his great pleasure that through the exchange programs such as tag rugby friendship games and visits to high schools they have had many meaningful experiences in Japan. He also hoped that the participants would enjoy the opening match of Rugby World Cup 2019 the next day and after returning home, they would share their experiences, enjoying rugby and learning about Japan with not only their families and friends but also their communities through SNS. He hopes that they will keep contact with their new Japanese friends and in the future work to build a bridge between Japan and their countries.
- Following that, representatives of Rugby World Cup 2019 Organizing Committee and Japan Rugby Football Union said a few words to the delegates.
- A student from Singapore, representing of the participants, made a thank you speech and he promised to share their experiences gained through the program after returning home, and also expressed the gratitude for Japan’s cooperation towards promoting mutual understanding between Japan and Asia Pacific region.
- At the end of the courtesy call, Mr. Nakatani, guests and the participants took photos together to commemorate the program.
