On November 12, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, attended the reception hosted by the Embassy of Palau in Tokyo for cerebrating 25 years of independence of the Republic of Palau and 25 years of diplomatic relations with Japan, invited by H.E. Mr. Tommy E. Remengesau Jr., President of the Republic of Palau. The overview is as follows.

1. At the outset, President Remengesau addressed “I am glad to celebrate the 25th Anniversary with everyone. Japan continues to be an indispensable partner for Palau’s economic development.”

2. Followed by President Remengesau speech, Prime Minister Abe noted “I am delighted to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our relationship with Palau, which is linked with historical bonds. I would like to express my respect to President Remengesau who has served for the nation and has deepened friendly cooperation between Japan and Palau for a long time.”

3. Prime Minister Abe also held a short pull-aside talk with President Remengesau on the occasion of this reception.
