Message of condolences from Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to H. E. Mr. Maithripala SIRISENA, President of Sri Lanka following the terrorist attacks in the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka
On April 21, following the terrorist attacks in Colombo, Negombo and Batticaloa, etc. of Sri Lanka, Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan sent the following message of condolences to H. E. Mr. Maithripala SIRISENA, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
“H.E. Mr. Maithripala Sirisena,
On April 21, explosions in Colombo, Negombo, Batticaloa, etc. resulted in a large number of deaths and injuries including Japanese. I would like to offer my prayers for the victims of the attacks, as well as my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and my sympathies to the wounded.
Japan expresses sincere solidarity with Sri Lankan people to overcome this difficult time.
Such act of terrorism cannot be justified and Japan firmly condemns it. Japan is firmly committed to combatting terrorism in cooperation with Sri Lanka and the international community.”
