On April 30th, from 9:00 AM local time (10:00 AM Japan time), Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, who was visiting the Republic of the Philippines, held a meeting with representatives of Japanese companies operating locally in Manila. The summary is as follows:

  1. At the beginning of the meeting, Prime Minister Ishiba expressed his respect for the representatives of Japanese companies, emphasizing that the excellent relationship between Japan and the rapidly growing economy of the Philippines has been built through their efforts.
  2. During the meeting, representatives of Japanese companies introduced their business activities in the Philippines and engaged in a candid exchange of opinions and expectations, including discussions on how increasing uncertainty in the international economic environment might affect their operations.
