Courtesy Call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU Ayano by the Delegation of Young Cambodian Political Leaders

On March 18, from 11:50 am for approximately 30 minutes, State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU Ayano received a courtesy call from ten Cambodian youths involved in politics (two from the ruling party, seven from opposition parties, and one from civil society), who are visiting Japan under the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of JENESYS 2025, a people-to-people exchange program promoted by the MOFA. The overview of the courtesy call is as follows:
- At the outset, Parliamentary State Minister KUNIMITSU welcomed the delegation's visit to Japan and mentioned that this invitation program is one of Japan's key initiatives to support Cambodia's democratic development. She expressed her hope that the exchanges and dialogues among the participants, across different parties, would contribute to the democratic development of Cambodia.
- In response, the participants expressed their gratitude for Japan's wide-ranging cooperation, including the invitation to visit Japan this time and the support to foster Cambodia's democratic development through this program so far. They also conveyed their desire to learn about the nature of democracy in Japan and to apply these insights to contribute to further development in Cambodia.
