Population Problems
Rapid population increase is a problem in many developing countries. This has become a global issue that must be addressed in a coordinated fashion by all humankind. Such efforts are yet another way to help these countries attain sustainable economic development.
Japan and the United States are closely coordinating our assistance to address this problem. For example, we perform joint surveys, implement assistance projects, and conduct personnel exchange programs.
As one example, we both provide strong support for NGO family-planning programs in the Philippines.
