- Six books on key economic policy issues in Asia and Africa
- Stronger research and training linkages between institutions in Asia and Africa
- A set of "policy briefs" for African governments on key economic policy issues
- Features in line with the Agenda for Action
- Activities in August 1998 and June 1999 focus on one of the main message of the Agenda for Action, i.e. "effective integration of African economies into the global economy"
- Asia-Africa collaboration reflects the key theme of the TICAD process
- African ownership is demonstrated by the central role of the AERC
- Widespread impact in Africa due to the extensive AERC network of economists and policy-makers.
