- Objectives
To promote technical cooperation between Asia and Africa by sharing Asian experiences. - Activities / contents
CSSTC, whose building was constructed in February 1998 by the government of Indonesia with the financial assistance of Brunei Darussalam, has the objective to promote technical cooperation among developing countries. In the context of Asia-Africa cooperation, CSSTC will accept 1000 African trainees over the next 5 years to transfer Indonesia's experiences and technology including those developed through Japanese cooperation. Japan plans to provide necessary equipment to CSSTC by Grant Aid. Japan also intends to extend technical cooperation to CSSTC; expert dispatch for managing CSSTC and Third Country Training which includes special training courses for African countries.
The travel costs of African trainees to participate in training courses of CSSTC will be covered by Japan-UNDP Human Resources Development Fund. - Expected outcomes / impact
African countries will benefit from know-how and technology obtained through training and information sharing at CSSTC. - Features in line with the Agenda for Action
CSSTC will contribute to African capacity building by means of Asia-Africa cooperation.
