II. Project / program description

  1. Objectives
    With a view to playing greater roles as development partners for the African countries, the Governments of Egypt and Japan will work out a comprehensive plan regarding the Joint Technical Cooperation Programs. To implement the Programs, the two Governments will effectively combine their human, technical and financial resources together for supporting social and economic development efforts in the African countries.
  2. Activities / contents
    1. The two Governments will plan and implement joint training programs, on the basis of cost sharing, for trainees from African countries, through the Third Country Training Programs which Japan has been implementing in Egypt.
    2. The two Governments will examine the possibility that experts dispatched by them will cooperate closely in implementing technical cooperation projects in the African countries.
  3. Expected outcomes / impacts
    To promote capacity building of human resources development in African countries through the technical cooperation such as the training programs, dispatched experts and so on.
  4. Features in line with the Agenda for Action
    This comprehensive program is designed to promote South-South cooperation in order to support social and economic development efforts in the African countries.
