II.Project / program description

Objectives
Providing investment information through the Internet to promote investment from Asia to Africa
Activities / contents
1. Establishment of Asia-Africa Investment Information Service Center (AAIIC) within Sibexlink of SITTDEC (South Investment, Trade and Technology Data Exchange Center) in Malaysia
2. Assistance for maitenance and management of AAIIC by the Japanese government in cooperation with UNIDO, UNDP, UNCTAD, etc.
3. Technical cooperation to create attractive investment environment
4. Training experts in investment promotion (including investment consultation)
5. Holding workshop to explain the AAIIC activities
6. Utilizing experiences of the Zimbabwe Investment Center
Expected outcomes / impacts
1. Activation of direct investment from Asia to Africa
2. Activation of intra-African and south-south trade
Features in line with the Agenda for Action
1. Strengthening of quality and quantity of African investment information in Sibexlink, Malaysia, will contribute to South-South (Asia-Africa) cooperation and private sector development.
