II.Project / program description

  1. Objectives
    To promote economic growth and increase employment by bringing about a conducive business climate.
  2. Activities / contents
    Support to vocational training and education, the banking sector, micro-credits, a venture capital fund, strategic alliances between Danish and Tanzanian companies, support to the Confederation of Tanzanian Industries and to the Tanzanian labour movement. The sector programme support also contains unallocated funds, some of which will be used to support the establishment of a Commercial Court in Tanzania.
  3. Expected outcomes / impacts
    An improved dialogue between all stakeholders in the business sector and the Government of Tanzania through which impediments to the development of the business sector are identified and the finding of solutions is facilitated. Moreover, expected outcomes include a better educated workforce responding to identified needs in the formal and informal business sector, improved financial services (micro-credit, traditional banking as well as with respect to venture capital, more efficient business organisations).
  4. Features in line with the Agenda for Action
    The creation of accelerated economic growth through capacity-building in various parts of the business sector.
