- Objectives
- To enable the export sector to respond to the role assigned to it in the Government's Economic and Social Action Programme.

- Promotion of the development of non-traditional products and markets
- Establishment of trade information services
- Development of capacities for trade-related training and direct training
- Promoting women's participation in economic activities and trade
- Strengthening of focal point and collaborating institutions in the private sector to achieve sustainability of trade development efforts and results.
- Expected outcomes / impacts
- An overall level of greater activity in trade and export leading to more job opportunities.
- Greater participation of Tanzania in COMESA and East African Community Trade.
- Progress towards realization of export potential.
- Features in line with the Agenda for Action
- Participation of the private sector, government and other stakeholders in the project formulation process.
- The government and private sector played a key role in mobilizing financial resources for the project by organizing a donors' round table, thus establishing ownership.
- Opportunities for sharing of information and experience with other developing countries.
