II. Project / program description

  1. Objectives
    To exchange views on ways and means to enhance African countries' capacity to develop and diversify their export sector
  2. Activities / contents
    1. Two high level experts from Africa will write a paper each addressing export promotion in two African countries, Senegal and Nigeria, Korean expert will make arrangement for preparing a paper on Korean experience on export promotion.
    2. The focus of the Forum will be on export promotion in African countries and lessons that could be learned from Asian experience including site visits.
  3. Expected outcomes / impacts
    The expected outcomes will be (i) to enable African countries to adopt appropriate measures for export and investment promotion, (ii) to sensitize business leaders and investors from Asian countries on trade and investment opportunities in Africa, including joint ventures and their export prospects, (iii) Institutional networking for African and Asian countries with a view to building African capacity for export promotion.
  4. Features in line with the Agenda for Action
    This Forum is another important initiative in the promotion of the private sector. In particular, the Seoul Forum will provide the opportunity to review African countries practical experiences in export promotion.
