- Objectives
To support women's economic empowerment in the New Lands, through institutional capacity building delivery of gender-sensitive social development services; creation of women-owned individual and group enterprises; and supply of credit. - Activities / contents
Training on management of the women's productive activities to 168 officials of the National Program Implementation Unit; training on credit and small-scale business management for personnel in the main and district offices; and training on entrepreneurship and leadership for 22,000 women. Training will also be provided on health education, family planning, sanitation and hygiene, childcare, nutrition and food patterns and environmental protection. - Expected outcomes / impacts
It is expected that loans totalling 7,600 loans and amounting to UA 4.48 million will be disbursed for projects of an average amount of US626 to finance income generating activities, such as cloth printing, sewing and tailoring, food processing, vegetable freezing and packaging and bakery. - Features in line with the Agenda for Action
This project is expected to improve women entrepreneurship and contribute to poverty reduction.
