II. Project / program description
- Objectives
Support the Government efforts to apply its food security and nutrition policy in favour of those most affected by structural adjustment.
- Activities / contents
- Provide foods to 33,000 of the poorest urban households by increasing their income and reducing malnutrition in communities faced with the highest risk of food insecurity.
- Contribute to create employment within food for work activities. Improve the nutritional assistance within the health centres.
- Expected outcomes / impacts
- Reinforce the NGOs capacity to dealt with the malnourished children.
- Contribute to the engagement of the communities in the nutrition activities.
- Contribute to the creation and rehabilitation of the basic structures within the food for work activities.
- Assure the food availability within the health centres which accompany its work with a training programme on nutritional education and follow-up of the malnourished children under treatment.
- Features in line with the Agenda for Action
