II. Project / program description
- Objectives
Implementation of the Bamako initiative which aims to provide access for all to primary health care
- Activities / contents
Food distribution in CRENs (Nutritional and Education center) to:
- Contribute to the nutritional rehabilitation of children suffering from serious malnutrition and admitted to the CRENs.
- Encourage those expectant and nursing mothers considered to be at risk to attend health centers regularly.
- Expected outcomes / impacts
- 22,050 children suffering from malnutrition will benefit from WFP food assistant throughout the 4 years of implementation of this project, as well as.
- 8,830 expectant and nursing mothers
- 1,640 women accompanying children suffering from serious malnutrition
- and 250 voluntary health auxiliaries.
- Features in line with the Agenda for Action
This WFP project is in line with the Agenda for action, as it covers one of its topics, that is Health.
