Food aid will also help to maintain the high attendance rates and prevent drop-out. WFP assistance is planned to scale down during this phase, while government and parents contributions will be progressively increased.

An annual average of 77,600 pupils and 1,000 cooks are assisted. Primary enrolment and attendance rates, for both girls and boys continue to show an increasing trend.
  4. Features in line with the Agenda for Action
This WFP assistance is in line with the following Agenda's goals: achieve universal primary education by 2015 and eliminate gender disparity in primary education. No sustainable development could be achieved if these objectives are not reached.
