II. Project description

1. Objectives
   The project supports basic education for girls as part of the UNICEF country programme of co-operation.
2. Activities:
   • Policy formulation and planning;
   • Data collection (desagragated);
   • Support to planning social mobilization activities for girls education at the community level;
   • Support to cost sharing strategy for school fees and supplies.
3. Expected outcomes:
   • More than 15,000 students benefited from direct support;
   • About 400 teachers have been trained;
   • More than 80 plans of actions were prepared by local development structures to promote and sustain girls education enrollment.
