- Objectives
To promote the self-reliance of the economically needy active groups duly recognized as returnees in Africa through the provision of microfinance. - Target groups: Returnees, in particular women
- Activities / contents
(1) UNHCR ,in close cooperation with its Implementing Partners(IP), provides the appropriate rreturnees with a suitable amount of microfinance.
(2) UNHCR and IPs undertake the monitoring and evaluating of each project for smooth implementation, and the operational linkage between UNHCR and other (multilateral and bilateral) organization(s) will be developed to strengthen/pursue the project/programme. - Expected outcomes / impacts
Achieving the self-reliance of returnees. Empowering beneficiaries, especially women. Promoting self-sustainability of the programme as well as local capacity building. Providing returnees with durable employment opportunities. - Features in line with the Agenda for Action
To increase the number of successful returnees for self-reliance in post-conflict situation including local capacity building specified in the Agenda of Action, as well as to contribute to Conflict Prevention and Post-conflict situation.
