II. Project / program description

  1. Objectives
    To enhance the participation of returnee, refugee and internally displaced women and children in reconstruction, rehabilitation and peace building in countries emerging from conflict situations.
  2. Activities / contents
    The seminar will (1) share experience and foster an understanding of the issues, (2) build a consensus on what needs to be done and how it can be done, and (3) adopt a Plan of Action. The Plan of Action will constitute concrete and implementable programmes and project proposals which facilitate the reintegration of vulnerable groups in the resettlement and development process of countries emerging from conflicts.
  3. Expected outcomes / impact
    Countries emerging from conflict situations will actively implement programmes, projects and other activities. Resources (special funds) will be provided for assisting the targeted groups. Peace processes will make progress from conflict resolution to concrete actions.
  4. Features in line with the Agenda for Action
    This project is expected to contribute to facilitating women's participation in reconstructing countries emerging from conflict situations.
