- Objectives
The project's overall objective is to facilitate the repatriation and resettlement of refugees and IDPs and contribute to the improvement of living conditions and food security of the returnees in rural Liberia, by supporting the rehabilitation of key road and bridge infrastructure in the designated areas of resettlement. The civil war in Liberia lasted for about seven years and has caused about 150,000 deaths and an unknown number of wounded. The basic and economic infrastructure has collapsed and the once prosperous farming and mining sectors abandoned. - Activities / contents
WFP plans to focus initial rehabilitation efforts on roads and bridges located in the north-west and south-east of the country, which are impassable during the six-month - Expected outcomes / impacts
