II. Project / program description
- Objectives
To enhance the understanding of current China which is undertaking tremendous changes and foster the friendship and long-term cooperation between China and African countries, this project provides various training activities for a total of 22 senior officials from 12 African countries, including Egypt, Sudan, Tanzania, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Uganda and Zambia. - Activities / contents
- A training course, on one hand, focuses on the introduction by China's prominent professors, experts and government officials to China's economic orientation, economic mechanism reform and a series of policies and guidelines adopted by China since its opening up and reform in 1978; on the other, it becomes a forum for those senior trainees to tell their story of their own country's economic development and experience.
- A study tour across China, covering the inland underdeveloped regions and coastal rapidly growing areas, aims to bolster the understanding of the current China and its economic development.
- Expected outcomes / impact
Strengthened Africa's understanding of current China undergoing changes and promoted the friendship and long-term cooperation China and African countries. - Features in line with the Agenda for Action
This project is expected to encourage joint cooperation and human capacity building for African development in the area of government economic management.
