II. Project / program description

  1. Objectives
    To contribute to a reduction in poverty through support to Government structures and direct support to basic needs projects.
  2. Activities / contents
    There are three area-based programmes in the Uganda Country Programme. These are centred on Kibaale, Kumi and Kiboga Districts.
  3. Expected outcomes / impacts
    Improvement in the standard of living of the poorest sectors of the Ugandan population in the three regions concerned.
  4. Features in line with the Agenda for Action
    The Uganda Country Programme is in line with the policies set out in "Challenges and Opportunities Abroad: White Paper of Foreign Policy" published by the Government of Ireland in 1996.
