II. Project / Program description

  1. Objectives
    (i) To promote human development and people participation, especially the poor and socially deprived, in development process by promoting local resources mobilization.
    (ii) To promote sustainable and replicable patterns of growth by designing appropriate development approaches to local conditions and structures.
    (iii) To strengthen partnership and constructive linkages between different development actors.
    (iv) To empower poor communities, particularly women, by organizing them and strengthening their social, economic and political entitlements.
  2. Activities / contents
    Provide training and study tour to Government officials and Non Governmental Organization in the specific development fields such as:
    • Exposure Training on Participation Development: Enhancement of Community Self-Reliance
    • Exposure Training for Policy Makers on Linking Bank with Self-help group of the poor
    Other training programmes related to poverty alleviation programmes may be further discuss between respective partners.
  3. Expected outcomes / impacts
    • Creating partnership among government, private banking, and NGOs in coordinating and implementing rural poor credit scheme.
    • Understand the concept, approach and policy framework of Participation Development: Enhancement of Community Self-reliance in Indonesia.
    • Be aware that community participation is a key element to ensure the successful of accomplishment of the development efforts.
