- Objectives
The goal of the programme is to reduce poverty levels by supporting equitable social and economic development through Government. The specific objective is to contribute to national level policy and strategy development. - Activities / contents
Irish Aid recognises the benefits which flow from a well planned, coherent, national strategic approach to sectors such as health, education and agriculture. At national level, Irish Aid is supporting the development of Sector Investment Programmes (SIPs) in these areas. - Expected outcomes / impacts
The creation of a Strategic Plan which expresses and draws together the priorities of Government for a sector in such a way that donors can commit financial resources to the plan as a whole, reducing their direct involvement in individual sub-sectors. - Features in line with the Agenda for Action
Sector aid in Mozambique is an element of the Mozambique Country Programme which is operated in line with the policies set out in "Challenges and Opportunities Abroad: White Paper on Foreign Policy" published by the Government of Ireland in 1996.
