II. Project / program description

  1. Objectives:
    Improve and upgrade knowledge and techniques in the field of rice processing technology.
  2. Activities / contents:
    To acquire processing methods and machinery and facilities for harvesting, threshing, drying, husking and storage-function of rice milling machinery and related equipment, methods of grading, utilization of by-products, measuring methods and management of processing facilities.
  3. Expected outcomes / impacts:
    This is a complementary training course to the rice cultivation techniques training course thus offering valuable opportunity to promote rice cultivation and processing techniques in Africa to help raise the living standard of the African people.
  4. Features in line with the Agenda for Action:
    Promoting transfer of appropriate technologies in order to support social and economic development efforts in Africa.
