II. Project / program description

  1. Objectives
    To provide participants with an opportunity to refresh and up grade relevant techniques and knowledge in the field of rice cultivation techniques.
  2. Activities / contents
    Acquire the ability to identify diagnosis, and solve common problems facing plantations of rice - adapt and apply mechanization and modern technologies in rice cultivation and field operations - discuss and develop research methodologies to improve rice cultivation.
  3. Expected outcomes / impacts
    Acquire knowledge and practices in rice cultivation techniques to support the agricultural development efforts in Africa - promoting transfer of appropriate technologies, help increase and improve rice cultivation in Africa.
  4. Features in line with the Agenda for Action
    To promote human capacity building for Africa in the area of agricultural development and support south - south cooperation efforts in Africa.
