(i) Parliamentarians from both Africa, Asia and Japan participated in the conference. Transparency and accountability were improved through engaging parliamentarians and their national committees on population and development in the ODA processes and (ii) the general public was informed of the effectiveness of ODA in developing and developed countries through the partnership between the two; and the foundation was laid to realize ODA by the people, for the people.
