(i) The First Pan African Forum for Women Entrepreneurship in Response to the Financial and Economic Crisis was held from 27-29 October, 2009, in Cairo, Egypt. The Forum came up with the Cairo Platform of Action for the Developmnet of Women Entrepreneurship in Africa. The Platform offers opportunity for continued support to women entrepreneurship by other partners.
(ii) The ILO and the AfDB are working on the institutionalization of the forum and the implementation of the WEFA (Women entrepreneurship facility in Africa), multi-agency, platform that will function as a coordinator, knowledge manager, synergy creator and generator of big ideas.
