- (i) The GFRF launched in June 2008. By October, $83 million in GFRP grant money approved for 10 African countries, and another $46 million under finalization for 7 other countries, for a total in special grants of $129 million and (ii) these grants financed especially targeted food distribution to children and other vulnerable groups, provision of seeds and fertilizers, and financing in support of food price policies.
