Promote African sector of the annual travel fair

Yokohama Action Plan: [3]Exploit the opportunity provided by the 2010 World Cup Soccer Tournament in South Africa to support long-term tourism promotion through events such as travel fairs.

Status: 1. To support promotion of tourism to Africa and the participation of African nations at the JATA World Travel Fair 2009 that was held from September 18th to 20th 2009.　
2. An African tourism seminar was organized on September 18th, 2009 and an expansion of Tourism to Africa was discussed at the panel discussion.
3. In February 2010, we are planning to dispatch a survey team to southern Africa to examine the local tourism infrastructure which is considered an obstacle to the growth of Japanese Tourism to Africa.

Status: As part of the promotion of travel to African countries which targeted the travel industry and the general consumer, the countries listed hereafter participated in the JATA World Travel Fair 2008 (Sep 19-21): Embassy of the Gabonese,Embassy of the Republic of Uganda, Tanzania Tourist Board, Embassy of Egypt, Egyptology & Tourist Promotion Office, Kingdom of Lesotho,Zambia Embassy, Embassy of Republic of Ghana, Rwanda Tourism Board,South African Tourism, Embassy of the Republic of Kenya, Botswana Tourism Board, Zimbabwe Tourism Authority
