The Situation in Iran

- In light of the reports that many people have been killed or injured in the ongoing protests in Iran, the Government of Japan is deeply concerned about the deterioration of the situation, and will closely monitor the developments.
- The Government of Japan opposes any use of force against peaceful protests. The Government of Japan strongly calls for the immediate cessation of violence, and strongly hopes for an early settlement of the situation.
- At the same time, the Government of Japan continues to take all necessary measures to ensure the protection of Japanese nationals in Iran.
