Presidential Election in the Republic of Djibouti

Japan congratulates Mr. Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, the incumbent President, on his re-election, as confirmed in the provisional results announced on April 11 (local time) following the presidential election held in the Republic of Djibouti on April 10.
Japan hopes that the Republic of Djibouti will continue to develop under the leadership of President Guelleh, while also contributing to peace and stability in the region.
Japan will further strengthen its good bilateral relations with the Republic of Djibouti as well as enhance cooperation in promoting a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)."
