Ministerial-level Meeting of the UN Peacebuilding Commission

On September 25 (September 24 local time), Mr. ENDO, Kazuya, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs participated in the Ministerial-level Meeting of the UN Peacebuilding Commission in New York. The overview of the meeting is as follows.
- Senior Deputy Minister ENDO highlighted the PBC’s 20th anniversary this year and stressed the importance of bridging humanitarian assistance and development by strengthening inclusive, nationally owned institutions. He also underscored the PBC’s convening role and the importance of the Peacebuilding Fund in strengthening national ownership. Senior Deputy Minister ENDO reaffirmed that Japan will continue to contribute to advancing peace around the world by working closely with partners within the United Nations’ Peacebuilding Architecture.
- During the meeting, participants made remarks on their stances and initiatives regarding inclusive national ownership in peacebuilding and conflict prevention efforts.
