On September 14 and 15, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan will conduct a study tour in Kyoto Prefecture, for diplomatic corps in Japan, co-hosted by Kyoto Prefecture.
- The Diplomats’ study tour program, co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and local governments, has been held annually since 2010 to introduce diverse charms of Japan’s regions, such as local history, culture, tourism, specialties, and industries, to the diplomatic corps in Japan.
- During this tour, under the theme “Experience Traditional Culture and International Exchange,” the diplomatic corps will be introduced to the diverse attractions of Kyoto Prefecture through a variety of experiences and visits, including Uzumasa Kyoto Village, Nishijin textile weaving, and tea-making and ikebana experiences, as well as a tour of the Kyoto International Conference Center, to gain insight into both traditional culture and international exchange.
- The tour is expected to deepen the diplomatic corps' understanding of the diverse charms and attractions of Kyoto Prefecture, and to foster stronger ties between Kyoto Prefecture and participating countries.
