On July 30, Mr. NAMAZU Hiroyuki, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held the 5th Japan-Mongolia Strategic Dialogue with Mr. Gombosuren AMARTUVSHIN, Deputy Foreign Minister of Mongolia, in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.

At the beginning of the dialogue, Deputy Foreign Minister Amartuvshin delivered a message of condolences to the victims and of sympathy to their families and those who are affected regarding the damage of the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake, to which Senior Deputy Minister Namazu expressed his gratitude.
Both sides welcomed the early realization of the strategic dialogue following the Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in June, and discussed bilateral cooperation as well as cooperation in the regional and international arenas in light of the current international situation. Deputy Foreign Minister Amartuvshin expressed his appreciation for Japan’s path as a peace-loving nation over the roughly 80 years since the end of World War II. Both sides concurred in further strengthening concrete cooperation under the “Special Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity” towards regional peace and stability, also in view of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year.
