Welcome Reception on the Occasion of the 7th Tokyo Global Dialogue Co-hosted by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA)

On July 14, Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, and the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) co-hosted a reception to welcome the participants of the 7th Tokyo Global Dialogue, organized by the JIIA, at the Iikura House of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- At the outset, Minister MOTEGI delivered remarks and pointed out that the challenges facing the international community have become increasingly diverse and grave, including the intensifying geopolitical competition, rapid technological innovation, and the rise of the Global South, and also stated that under such circumstances, in order to vigorously promote a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)”, Japan will work hand in hand with various countries and regions across all fields, including the economic, social, and security domains, and provide the necessary support and cooperation. Minister MOTEGI referred to the important role of the Japan Institute of International Affairs and expressed his expectation for fruitful discussions in the 7th Tokyo Global Dialogue.
- Minister MOTEGI also exchanged views with the participants of the Dialogue about the outlook of international affairs.
