Courtesy Call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs HORII by Mr. Chapagain, Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)

On June 22, commencing at 4:30 p.m., for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. HORII Iwao, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from Mr. Jagan Chapagain, Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), who was visiting Japan.
- At the outset, State Minister HORII stated that IFRC, who provide prompt and community-based support to people made vulnerable by natural disasters and other challenges, utilizing the network of National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, is an important partner in humanitarian assistance amidst the increasingly severe global humanitarian situation.
- In response, Secretary General Chapagain expressed his gratitude for Japan's support through IFRC in addressing the escalating global humanitarian crises, as well as for their long-standing partnership. He also conveyed his expectations for further collaboration in the future.
- In addition, both sides concurred on further strengthening their cooperative relationship and collaborating in responding to the escalating global humanitarian crises.
