Japan-IFRC Policy Consultation (Summary of Outcomes)

The Japan-IFRC Policy Consultation was held on June 22.
- Japanese delegation was represented by Ms. NISHIZAKI Toshimi, Ambassador for Humanitarian Assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) side was represented by Mr. Jagan Chapagain, Secretary General of the IFRC.
- Amidst the increasingly severe global humanitarian situation, the consultation discussed not only humanitarian assistance utilizing the network of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in 191 countries and regions, but also medium- to long-term efforts based on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) Nexus, and the importance of strengthening cooperation between IFRC and various actors such as the Japanese Red Cross Society, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and Japanese companies.
- Both sides reaffirmed their continued cooperation in addressing global humanitarian issues.
