  1. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. HORII, Mr. FUJII Hisayuki (Member of the House of Representatives of Japan, Secretary-General of the Japan-Australia Diet League), The Hon. Frances Adamson AC (Governor of South Australia), and Mr. Andrew Shearer (Ambassador-Designate of Australia to Japan), and others.
  2. He then expressed his hope that this special exhibition will contribute to a deeper understanding of the history of Japan-Australia relations and serve as an opportunity to further promote friendship between the two countries.
  3. H.E. Mr. Andrew Shearer, Ambassador-Designate of Australia to Japan stated that it is not only the governments but also the peoples of both countries who have shaped the “Special Strategic Partnership” based on Japan-Australia friendship, and expressed his desire for the two countries to continue working together toward their mutual prosperity over the next 50 years.
