State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU's Video Message for the 82nd Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP)

On April 20, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, delivered a video message on the occasion of the 82nd session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
- In her video message, State Minister KUNIMITSU stated that this year's Commission Session theme, "Leave No One Behind: Promoting a Society for All Ages in the Asia-Pacific Region," addresses critical issues essential for achieving sustainable development and inclusive economic growth.
- State Minister KUNIMITSU also touched upon the aging population and challenges facing young people in the Asia-Pacific region, emphasizing the importance of building a society where all generations can thrive. She noted that Japan has been working on promoting employment for the elderly, reskilling, digital utilization, and extending healthy life expectancy.
- Furthermore, State Minister KUNIMITSU stated that Japan will share its knowledge and experience regarding declining birthrates and aging populations, promote co-creation with the region, and continue to advance knowledge sharing and human resource development support through ESCAP.
- Finally, State Minister KUNIMITSU emphasized the need to further accelerate efforts toward 2030 under the principle of "Leave No One Behind," and stated that Japan will continue to collaborate with ESCAP and contribute to the realization of a "Society for All Ages."
