Change of the Science and Technology Advisor to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan

On March 31, Dr. MATSUMOTO Yoichiro, Science and Technology Advisor to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Dr. KOTANI Motoko, Co-Advisor, concluded their respective terms. Dr. MATSUMOTO served for six years and Dr. KOTANI for four years, during which they made dedicated efforts to provide advice and recommendations from a scientific and technological perspective, to engage in outreach both domestically and internationally, and to build networks with overseas partners.

As successor, on April 1, Dr. OKI Taikan, Professor of the University of Tokyo, has been appointed as the new Science and Technology Advisor to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan. The Ministry will continue to work, together with Dr. OKI, toward the further promotion of science and technology diplomacy.
