Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs ONISHI’s attendance at the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 International Women’s Day Commemorative Project “Unstereotype Exhibition”

On March 2, for approximately 30 minutes from 4:30 p.m. Mr. ONISHI Yohei, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, attended the opening ceremony of the 2026 International Women’s Day commemorative project “Unstereotype Exhibition,” hosted by UN Women, and delivered a congratulatory address.

  1. Parliamentary Vice-Minister ONISHI stated that this exhibition provides an opportunity to re-examine stereotypes and fixed ideas, and expressed his conviction that such initiatives contribute to the realization of a society where diversity is respected and to sustainable development.
  2. Furthermore, Parliamentary Vice-Minister ONISHI expressed his respect for UN Women, the organizer of this exhibition, which is actively engaged in outreach to companies and awareness-raising activities and stated that the government and private sectors, including the companies cooperating in this project, will work together to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment.
