On February 17, commencing at 7:00 p.m. for approximately 80 minutes, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a working dinner with H.E. Ms. Þorgerður Katrín GUNNARSDÓTTIR, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iceland, who is visiting Japan as a guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The overview is as follows:

  1. State Minister KUNIMITSU expressed her congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Iceland this year, and conveyed her hope for the further deepening of bilateral ties. She also mentioned that Foreign Minister Gunnarsdóttir was scheduled to visit Nagasaki during this visit and emphasized the importance of importance of having opportunities to deepen bilateral relations.
  2. The two sides exchanged views on various topics related to bilateral relations and international situation, including cultural and people-to-people exchanges, sports, and gender equality.
