  1. On January 4 (local time), the result of the presidential election held in the Republic of Guinea on December 28, 2025 was announced, and Mr. Mamadi DOUMBOUYA has been elected as the next president.
  2. Japan welcomes and congratulates the significant progress to re-establish constitutional order in Guinea through the election of President-elect DOUMBOUYA after the first presidential election held in a peaceful manner under the new constitution approved by the referendum in September 2025.
