Diplomats’ Study Tour in Okinawa Prefecture

On January 14 and 15, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan will conduct a study tour in Okinawa Prefecture, for diplomatic corps in Japan, co-hosted by Okinawa Prefecture.
- Diplomats’ study tour program, co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and local governments, have been held annually since 2010 to introduce diverse charms of Japan’s regions, such as local history, culture, tourism, specialties, and industries, to the diplomatic corps in Japan.
- The tour this time, under the theme “Explore Okinawa, from the Ryukyu Kingdom to the Present”, will introduce the diverse attractions of Okinawa Prefecture to the diplomatic corps including history, culture, traditional crafts, cutting-edge academic research, and various industries.
- The tour is expected to deepen the diplomatic corps' understanding of the diverse charms and attractions of Okinawa Prefecture, and to foster stronger ties between Okinawa Prefecture and participating countries.
