On December 11, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from H. E. Mr. Gianluigi BENEDETTI, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Japan. The overview of the meeting is as follows;

  1. At the outset, State Minister KUNIMITSU stated that Japan and Italy are strategic partners sharing fundamental values and principles, and that, amid steady progress in cooperation in a wide range of fields, she hopes that the bilateral cooperation that has been built up to now will be further developed under the leadership of Ms. TAKAICHI Sanae, Prime Minister of Japan, and H.E. Ms. Giorgia MELONI, President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic.
  2. Ambassador BENEDETTI extended his congratulations on State Minister KUNIMITSU’s appointment and stated that Italy and Japan have maintained a close relationship for many years, and that he hopes to continue working together to further deepen Japan-Italy relations.
  3. Both sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues, including cooperation in areas such as security and economy.
