The Special Assistant to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador in charge of Gaza Rebuilding Assistance Mr. OKUBO’s Visit to the State of Israel

On December 3 and 4 (same day local time), Mr. OKUBO Takeshi, the Special Assistant to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador in charge of Gaza Rebuilding Assistance, visited the State of Israel. The overview of the visit is as follows:
- Ambassador OKUBO visited the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) located in central Israel and exchanged views with relevant parties.
- He explained Japan's position on the situation in Gaza to the relevant parties and stated that Japan would contribute to international efforts for humanitarian assistance, early recovery and reconstruction, and interim governance in Gaza, in coordination with relevant countries and organizations, with a view to improving the humanitarian situation in Gaza, achieving early recovery and reconstruction, and realizing a two-state solution. They agreed to continue communication and work closely together.
(Reference) Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC)
CMCC is a coordination center established in Kiryat Gat, central Israel, following the Gaza ceasefire agreement between the parties in October this year. Military and civilian personnel dispatched from various countries, including the United States, participate in the activities in the center, which is responsible for coordinating international efforts concerning the Gaza Strip, such as monitoring the progress of the ceasefire and implementing humanitarian and reconstruction assistance.
