Video Message by Foreign Minister MOTEGI at the Twenty-Second Meeting of States Parties to the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention
On December 1, Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, delivered a video message at the Twenty-Second Meeting of States Parties to the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention (English (PDF)

As tragic suffering caused by anti-personnel mines continues around the world, Minister MOTEGI welcomed the Republic of Marshall Islands and the Kingdom of Tonga that became new State Parties to the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention. Further, as Japan is serving the Presidency in 2025, Minister MOTEGI stated Japan’s intention and hope to make this Meeting an opportunity to reaffirm shared commitment to the Convention. Minister MOTEGI also reaffirmed that Japan would continue to lead the development of the Convention and international mine action in cooperation with other countries with a view to realizing a “mine-free world.”
