On November 27, from 5:40 p.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Khassuuri Gankhuyag, Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, who is visiting Japan upon the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The overview of the meeting is as follows.

  1. At the outset, Minister Motegi welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Kh. Gankhuyag's visit to Japan, and expressed his wish to promote bilateral cooperation and collaboration on resolving global issues to realize a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” with Mongolia, as “the Special Strategic Partners for Peace and Prosperity.” In response, Deputy Prime Minister Kh. Gankhuyag expressed his willingness to continue deepening relations with Japan further, stating that Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress Visit to Mongolia was extremely significant in light of bilateral relations.
  2. Minister Motegi also welcomed the successful conclusion of the 12th Japan-Mongolia Government and Business Sector Joint Committee. Both sides concurred to further strengthening cooperation in both political and economic fields based on the bilateral Action Plan. Regarding Chinggis Khan International Airport, which is the symbol of the bilateral cooperation and the key to enhancing air connectivity, Minister Motegi stated Japan would continue cooperating toward the realization of the airport expansion. Deputy Prime Minister Gankhuyag expressed his gratitude in response.
  3. The two sides also exchanged views on cooperation in the regional and international fora.
